Data Migration

The BQE Core Data Migrator transfers your ArchiOffice Online company data into the Core database with just a few clicks. If you are an existing BQE customer, this tool can migrate your existing data to our new flagship product, Core. You will receive a notification regarding the option to upgrade to Core. This option,  'Migrate to Core' is available on the top-right of your application, which allows you to move your existing online data to Core. The entire data migration process is automatic, with no download or installation required at your end.

On the BQE Core Data Migrator dialog, you can see the following options:

Migrate parent phases as Main: Select this to migrate all the projects having sub-phases in ArchiOffice Online as Main type of projects in Core.

Additional time and expenses as Extra Billed: Select this if you do not want to migrate the additional job codes as phases to Core. Time and expense entries associated with these additional job codes will be marked as Extra in Core.

Migrate to Core: Click this if you want the migrator to start transferring your ArchiOffice Online data into Core..

Not Now: Click this if you want to skip transferring your ArchiOffice Online data into Core.

The BQE Core Data Migrator dialog is not available if the  data migration is already in progress. Also, the 'Migrate to Core' option changes to Migration Status and clicking on this option displays a progress bar.

In addition, the migrator tool is not compatible with Microsoft Access databases, so you have to upsize your Microsoft Access database to Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or later) prior to using the tool. Please contact BQE Support for any help. Also, this tool is compatible with 2018 products only and you cannot run it on Mac systems.

Data Mapping

Your data is stored in various tables in your existing ArchiOffice Online database. There are many data fields in ArchiOffice Online that do not have equivalent fields in Core, or vice versa. Therefore, this migration process involves creating calculated fields using the individual SQL statements and defining calculated columns for the purpose of data mapping. After the data migration process, the data gets transferred to the new Core database. Below is a list of data tables and the flow of data from your old database to the new one. You can find data mappings for only the main screens and tables here; for detailed data mappings, please contact our Support Team.
